Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of Color Name Recognizer Camera on iOS and macOS. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms.
App Store license
Your use of the app is also subject to Apple’s applicable App Store terms and Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control as permitted by those terms.
What the app does
The app identifies and compares colors, provides color names and numeric representations, creates harmony and accessibility-related results, and lets you save or export selected content. iOS can sample from its camera or selected photos. macOS uses Apple’s system color sampler to receive a color selected from the screen.
Color and accessibility limitations
Color results may vary because of cameras, lighting, display profiles, device calibration, image processing, selected naming tables, and conversion or rounding. Names, similarity scores, contrast calculations, and vision simulations are informational tools and are not guaranteed to be exact, complete, or suitable for medical, safety-critical, legal, or regulatory decisions. Verify important results using appropriate professional tools and standards.
Premium, subscriptions, and Universal Purchase
Premium may be offered through weekly, monthly, or annual auto-renewable subscriptions. Earlier lifetime purchases may remain restorable even when a lifetime product is no longer offered for new sale. Current products, prices, trial terms, and billing periods are shown by Apple before purchase.
Payment is charged to your Apple Account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings. Refunds are governed by Apple’s policies.
Eligible purchases can unlock Premium on both iOS and macOS when the same eligible Apple Account is used for the App Store. Universal Purchase shares purchase entitlement; it does not synchronize saved colors, palettes, projects, recent colors, or settings between devices.
Your content and local data
You remain responsible for colors, palettes, project names, and files you create, save, import, or export. App libraries are stored locally and may be lost if you delete the app, erase the device, or lose access to local storage. Keep independent copies of important exports.
Acceptable use
You may not misuse the app, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, use it to violate law or third-party rights, or reverse engineer or redistribute it except where applicable law expressly permits.
Internet services and external content
Most color work occurs on-device. Features such as App Store purchasing, Restore Purchases, More Apps, website links, and support communications require services operated by Apple, our hosting provider, or another destination. Those services may be unavailable and are subject to their own terms and policies.
Updates and availability
We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue features when reasonably necessary, including to maintain compatibility, security, legal compliance, or product quality. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.
Intellectual property
The app, its design, software, included materials, and branding are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership to you.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the app is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or availability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, loss of data, lost profits, or reliance on color or accessibility results. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Termination
You may stop using the app at any time. We may terminate the license if you materially violate these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain effective.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how the app and associated services handle information.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the app or applicable requirements change. The effective date above identifies the current version. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
