Common questions
What is free, and what does Premium Lifetime unlock?
The free app stitches up to 3 screenshots, includes review, editing and privacy masks, and exports full-resolution PNG, JPEG or HEIF without a watermark. Premium Lifetime is a one-time purchase for larger stitches (up to 100 screenshots), paginated PDF, split-image sets, ZIP exports, and all future Premium features. There is no subscription or recurring charge. The purchase screen shows Apple's current localized price.
How do I restore Premium on another device?
Use the Apple Account used for the original purchase. On the first screen, tap the top-right Premium crown button → Restore Purchases. Restore is also available on every upgrade screen. Existing verified ownership is checked automatically on launch; loading a price is not required to retain it. Family Sharing is not enabled for this purchase.
What if my purchase is pending or unavailable?
Pending purchases, including Ask to Buy, unlock after Apple confirms approval. The app listens for confirmation and checks again when opened. For unavailable prices or a failed restore, check your connection and Apple Account, then retry. Canceling does not delete your stitch. A refunded or revoked purchase removes Premium access but leaves projects intact.
Can I use Premium offline?
Previously verified ownership is read from StoreKit's on-device records without requiring a product-price request. A first purchase, a reinstall or new-device restore, account authentication, or revalidation may require a connection to Apple. No separate developer account is required.
How do I get the cleanest stitch?
- Choose at least two screenshots with clearly visible overlapping content.
- It is fine to select them in any order; the app analyzes order locally.
- Keep similar zoom and text size across the source screenshots.
- After analysis, inspect any expanded warning, order, repeated-section, or seam panel before export.
Why does the app ask me to review a result?
The app does not silently accept an uncertain order, layout, or join. Controls remain expanded when evidence is weak so you can include, exclude, reorder, and adjust the affected screenshots before export.
Are my screenshots uploaded?
No. Import, matching, review, privacy masking, project persistence, preview, and export preparation run on the device. The app has no stitching account, backend, analytics, advertising, or tracking SDK.
Why is Optional Photos Cleanup not always shown?
It becomes available only after a PNG, JPEG, or HEIF result has been successfully saved to Photos and the job has eligible Photos sources. Files and Share-sheet originals are never guessed as Photos cleanup targets. A legacy project may ask you to reselect the exact sources.
Will Photos cleanup delete my finished stitch?
No. The finished copy in Photos and the app's private project remain unchanged. Review the exact source thumbnails, choose what to remove, and then confirm in Apple's Photos dialog.
Which export format should I choose?
- PNG for lossless image quality and interface screenshots.
- JPEG for smaller, widely compatible files.
- HEIF for efficient high-quality images on modern Apple devices.
- PDF for configurable paper, margins, orientation, quality, and page breaks.
Long raster results can also be split into numbered image sets for messaging, social, OCR, or custom limits. PDF and split-image delivery require Premium Lifetime; full-image PNG, JPEG and HEIF exports remain free for stitches of up to 3 screenshots.
How do I hide sensitive information?
Open Crop & Privacy, scroll or pinch to find the content, and add a Solid, Pixelate, or Blur mask directly on the stitched image. Drag a mask to move it and drag its corner to resize it. Disabled masks stay editable but are not included in previews or exports.
How do I remove local project data?
Open Projects, swipe a project, choose Delete, and confirm. Starting a new job clears the live workspace but keeps saved projects. Copies already saved to Photos, Files, or another destination must be deleted there separately.
How do I share screenshots into the app?
Select one to 100 images in an app that supports the iOS Share sheet, choose Stitch Screenshots, wait for the private batch to finish, then return to Smart Screenshot Stitcher.
