WordNex provides dictionary lookup and word-relationship exploration on your device. No account is required. Version 2.0 contains no advertising or analytics service and does not send your camera images, microphone audio, dictionary searches, saved meanings, or exploration trails to the developer.
Camera, photos, and speech
Camera permission enables recognition of printed English text. The system photo picker gives the app access to photos you select for recognition. Recognition takes place on your device. The app does not keep camera images or microphone recordings as permanent records. Optional dictation requires microphone and speech-recognition permission and an available on-device English model; it does not fall back to server recognition. You can use typed dictionary search without these permissions. Permissions can be changed in device Settings.
Saved information
Preferences, lookup history, saved meanings (including reading context), and named exploration trails are stored locally. Saved information may be included in device backups according to your Apple backup settings. You can remove history, saved meanings, and trails within the app. Deleting the app removes its local data; separately retained backups or exported copies are controlled by you and the services where you store them.
Sharing
When you choose to export saved meanings or a trail PDF, the selected content is passed to the destination you choose in the system share sheet. A trail includes the words, meaning cues, and visit sequence in that saved route. Receiving apps and services handle that content under their own policies. Exports may remain outside WordNex after the original item is deleted.
Support and external services
If you email support, your email address and message are received so that we can respond. Please do not include sensitive information unless needed for your request. App Store services, device backups, system speech assets, and any external website you open are provided by their respective operators and are subject to their policies.
